What PlayaPack does
PlayaPack builds a personalized packing list for desert events. You answer a few questions — shelter, camp setup, transport, how many people for how many days, and how experienced you are — and the app generates a list from a catalog of 128 items across 18 categories, then tracks what you have packed.
The app works completely offline. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and makes no network requests.
Frequently asked questions
How do I change my answers after generating a list?
Open the … menu and choose Start a new list. Be aware that this is a clean slate, not an edit: it deletes your current list, everything you have checked off, and any items you added by hand, then asks the setup questions again from the first one. The app confirms before it does any of that.
If you only need one or two items changed, it is usually less work to adjust the list you already have — swipe an item away with I'm not bringing it, or use + Add an item for something the questions did not cover.
The list is overwhelming. Where do I start?
Turn on Core essentials only in the … menu. It narrows the list to the survival items almost everyone brings — around fifty, depending on your answers. Work through those first, then switch the filter off.
What does "buy on arrival" mean?
Some items are impractical to carry the whole way — ice and water are the usual ones, and sometimes tent stakes or a sledgehammer if you're arriving by bus. The app groups these into a separate section so you can treat them as a shopping stop near the event instead of packing them.
Can I add my own items?
Yes. Items you add by hand appear in your list alongside the generated ones and are stored only on your device.
Are the quantities exact?
No. Every quantity the app shows — water, food, fuel, supplies — is a general rule of thumb, not a personal recommendation and not a minimum safe amount for you. Your real needs depend on your body, your health, your activity level, and the weather. Plan for more than any figure shown, and never ration water to a number a checklist app displayed. See the Disclaimer for the full statement.
Does PlayaPack collect my data?
No. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no network requests. Your quiz answers, check-offs, and hand-added items stay on your device. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my data?
Use Start a new list in the app to clear your list, your check-offs, and any items you added by hand. Deleting the app from your device permanently removes everything it has stored. Because nothing is ever transmitted, there is no server-side copy to request or delete.
I found a wrong or missing item in the catalog.
Please email it in. The catalog ships inside the app so that it works with no signal, which means corrections arrive in the next app update rather than appearing on your phone straight away.
Is this an official Burning Man app?
No. This app is not affiliated, endorsed, or verified by Burning Man Project. PlayaPack is independent. See the Disclaimer for trademark details.

Email support@godevcode.com. Bug reports are most useful with your device model, your iOS version, and what you expected to happen.
Accessibility
PlayaPack is built with standard system components. Every control carries a VoiceOver label, list rows offer a named action for removing an item so the swipe is not the only route, and the building animation collapses under Reduce Motion.
Text does not yet scale fully with Dynamic Type — several screens use fixed sizes. That is a known gap rather than a claim, and it is being worked on. If you hit an accessibility barrier, email it in; those reports are prioritized.
